It's a small island, but less crowded and had a much more relaxed feel than mainland Malta.
The capital, Rabat, is a beautiful golden medieval city on a hill with a labyrinth of narrow streets.
Ramala Bay is a red sand beach with dramatic cliffs and more Roman temple ruins. At the top of the cliff is Calypso's cave, which is mentioned in Homer's Odyssey.
Not a lot of sheep, but the Mediterranean was everywhere you looked.
